Nobody 2.0 Conference: The *real* Long Tail
Lot’s of buzz has been around diversity in conference speakers, particularly around women and their lack of presence. I pointed him to Tara’s great list of women, and decided that the Office 2.0 really lacked diversity…in a sense that they were all people who did great things.
The speakers and presenters are always great and well known. Well, aren’t you tired of it? =P Let’s hear from the most diverse: the masses!
As a result we decided to create the conference Nobody 2.0 where you can only speak and present if nobody has heard of you… we call this the *real* Long Tail =)

Isn’t that kind of what mashup camp is all about? You don’t sell tickets to it by who’s one the agenda, so it’s really open to folks who aren’t on the “list”.

Kevin,
I agree that the camp/unconference format lends more towards opportunity to diversity, but I do tend to find that sometimes it’s the same folks who are doing the talking. Maybe a better rule would be if you’ve never presented or spoke before then you can speak
.
Tara,
Thanks =)
