“Cancel” has invaded my toaster!!!
Okay so I don’t buy toasters that often. But last year I bought 2 and found something mysterious there… a cancel button.

I’m not sure how intuitive it is to have a “Cancel” button on my toaster. What does it *really* do?
1. Will it return my toast after I answer “Are you sure”?
2. Return my bread back to an un toasted state?
3. Will it only cancel the toasting process and not cancel the process of popping the bread?
One button has caused so much uncertainty. How many times have I wrestled with “Cancel” in my interaction designs? (Does it cancel out of the wizard or just this step? Does it return everything to the state as before? Does it act as an undo? ) Something tells me if it was causing so many problems online why bring it to the offline world???
P.S. One should definately read JackDied’s post about his toaster.

I not only will cancel the current toasting process, but return to the previous state AND cancel your credit cards automatically.
